Sam Deane returns to UEA

The students learnt more about Concilium’s history and how we plan to develop as a brand

Talks
28th November 2017

This week one of our partners, Sam, returned to his old stomping ground of UEA to give an insightful talk into SME businesses at UEA’s employability week.

Sam, joined by representatives for Carwow, Epos Now, Liftshare and The AF Group gave talks to around 130 students about the set ups, struggles and successes of SME businesses and how their careers have developed within an SME company.

Sam started by explaining a bit about his background, what he’d studied and life post-UEA. He went into detail about how he’s progressed within Concilium, starting as an Associate Consultant way back in 2014, working all the way up to becoming a Partner in 2016. His story showed incredible career progression for a young professional and was definitely inspiring to current UEA students looking to follow a similar career path.

The students learnt more about Concilium’s history and how we plan to develop as a brand in 2018 onwards. They seemed to be impressed by the rate at which Concilium has grown and the exciting plans that we have for the future.

Following the talk, the University held a mixer for the students and employers to interact and Sam was approached by multiple students looking to gain a deeper understanding of our brand and what it is we look for in our future graduates. We were incredibly impressed by the extent in which the UEA students were engaged in learning about SME businesses and the interesting questions they had at the mixer. Not to mention the amount of pizza on offer!

Well done to Sam and all the other businesses for giving an excellent talk – we hope to be back next year!
