Since its founding in 2015, Concilium Search has gone from strength to strength, with Q2 2018 being our best quarter to date. One of our main objectives has always been to grow a global business able to support customers and clients around the world. With a track record of placements across EMEA, North America and APAC we can comfortably say that we are on the right track. As a testament to this, we are expanding our international footprint and establishing offices abroad.
In July, our New York office officially opened with three of our Partners relocating over to the US. Oliver Harrison, Samuel Deane and Daniel Jeffery have all been an integral part of Concilium since its inception in 2015 and proved their caliber time and time again for us over the years. Now based in Manhattan, they are a formidable team, and will be key in further developing Concilium Search’s North American and LATAM markets.
In addition to the US, Europe has been another key market for us and now accounts for nearly 30% of our revenue (excluding the UK). Following this success, opening a European office has been the next logical step for us and something that has always been high on our agenda. Now, not only has this plan been given the green light, but we have moved rapidly to secure a fantastic office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
It was a challenge to identify the best location for our first European office. With a wide geographical spread of clients, our shortlist featured a several strong contenders with Zurich, Copenhagen, Paris and Munich (amongst others) all considered. Ultimately, Amsterdam was selected for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is ideally located in between our London HQ and the rest of Europe. With Schiphol airport a 20minute journey from the office, we can access 322 direct worldwide destinations. What's more, Amsterdam has excellent rail connections across Europe. A core principal of Concilium Search has always been to develop long-term partnerships and there is no better way to do this than regular face-to-face contact. These transport links will make it even more convenient to get out and meet clients and candidates alike.
Furthermore, Amsterdam is a wonderfully diverse and multicultural city with world class museums, festivals, theaters and restaurants. It also has a very reasonable cost of living and the city is incredibly accessible both by bike and on foot. All in all, it’s not only a great place to work, but also a great place to live!
The office itself is in Amsterdam Zuid, a vibrant business district with a great atmosphere and well connected to central Amsterdam and Schiphol airport. Heading up operations will be Senior Consultant Kevin Ross, who will also look after our Pharmaceutical division, while I will be responsible for our Life Science and Medical Device sectors. We will continue to work collaboratively with our London and US offices, whilst increasing our headcount in Amsterdam.
The official relocation date will be in January 2019, but myself and Kevin will be regularly commuting back and forth in the meantime whilst we acclimatise and set up operations. Both Kevin, myself and the rest of Concilium are exceptionally excited about building on our accomplishments and further enhancing the service we provide our clients.
