2018's Quarter 1 was the biggest in our Concilium history and the biggest Quarter ever for our contract division.

In 2017 we aimed to build our contracts division, so it accounted for at least 50% of our revenue, whilst also maintaining the growth of our permanent business. This first quarter showed we were successful in achieving this goal, whilst hitting the milestone of being our strongest Q1 to date.

As mentioned, Quarter 1 was the biggest Q1 in our Concilium history, additionally, it was the biggest Quarter ever for our contract division, which has been growing in an upward trajectory every quarter since 2016.

Developing our international client relationships has been critical to our growth so far and we spent a lot of time solidifying these partnerships in Q1. This included business trips to Boston, New York and Ohio in the US and trips to Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland in Europe.

Looking back to 2017, we spent a lot of time last year marketing at the graduate fairs of some of the UK’s top universities and, off the back of this, held two very successful assessment centres in February of this year. Following these assessment centres, we selected 10 excellent individuals who will join the business later this year – almost doubling that of last Summer’s graduate intake.

As part of this process, we took them to lunch at the Gherkin in March to meet with several of our established consultants, giving them a chance to learn more about the day-to-day life of a consultant and helping them to integrate into the business as early as possible.

Not only have we identified 10 graduates for the Summer of this year, but we also hired 7 new members of staff in Q1. We took on an additional 4 new graduates for our contract division, who have all hit the ground running and fitted in seamlessly within the business. We have also strengthened our back-office, with 3 new team members to help support our excessive growth.

Alongside this, we hired our very first Concilium intern, Alexandra, who is working directly with our US division and helping them as they prepare for the setup of our New York office in August. This will hopefully be the first of many paid internships we offer to aspiring associates!

The next 3 months we will be taking the business to another level and have set some ambitious growth targets. We will be busy preparing the launch of our New York office, whilst also setting the groundwork for our next expansion!

With exciting new projects already lined up for this quarter and high levels of activity already taking place in the first 2 weeks, Q2 is set to be an equally successful quarter for Concilium.
